Alexandra Matloka
Alexandra was introduced to opera by American tenor Bruce Brewer, with whom she began her vocal training in 2003.
She made her professional debut in 2012 with the professional chorus of the Dijon Opera, as well as with Raphaël Pichon’s Ensemble Pygmalion.
In 2013, on the stage of the Nancy Opera, she made her debut as a soloist in the role of Yvette in Puccini’s *La Rondine*, conducted by José Cura.
From 2014 to 2016, she received valuable guidance from baritone Bernd Weikl in Hamburg, and since 2019 she has been honing her skills with soprano Linda Watson in Vienna.
She has also participated in numerous international masterclasses with Soile Isokoski, Krassimira Stoyanova, and Siegfried Jerusalem.
Since her debut, Alexandra Matloka has performed regularly in various concerts across Europe; notably, she has sung the role of Mimi in Puccini’s *La Bohème* more than 50 times at several Parisian theaters. More recently in Vienna, she has performed roles such as Nancy in Flotow’s *Martha* and Prince Orlofsky in Johann Strauss’s operetta *Die Fledermaus*.
In 2023, Alexandra teamed up with pianist Hélène Jeanney to form a duo. Together, they present concerts featuring 19th-century French, German, and Italian art songs, inviting the audience on a musical journey through the most beautiful works of this repertoire.
In 2025, she founded the ensemble “Via Opera” in Vienna with soprano Ellen Halikiopoulos, director Anna Borodina, and baritone Michael Pinsker. Their first project, based on Mozart’s *La Clemenza di Tito*, will be presented on October 10, 2025, in Vienna.
